This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love teaching in a school with a diverse student population. I have had the privilege of teaching upper-grade students that come from working-class families and different cultural backgrounds.

My students have shared with me their personal struggles and I am always amazed by their resilient attitude to come to school and learn!

In my class, I believe it's essential to cultivate my students' emotional strengths and needs. Therefore my students know that I value not only their intellectual growth but also their emotional and mental growth.

My Project

Funding for the mindfulness fundamentals course will enable me to learn the about emotion regulation. Incorporating mindfulness practices in my classroom will benefit my students focus and engagement in class.

The knowledge gained from the mindfulness fundamentals course will directly impact my students emotional and mental health.

Students need to be supported not only academically but emotionally and mentally. Taking this course will empower me to learn strategies that will empower my students to learn life-long techniques that will increase their compassion for others and themselves. Students will not only learn to value their intellectual growth but also the emotional and mental growth.
