Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Its the 21st century and the use of technology can be seen everywhere! However, students in my classroom are lacking such use of technology, specifically an LCD projector in our classroom.
I currently teach sixth and eighth grade English language learners who are primarily Spanish speaking students.
My students live in Pennsylvania and attend a charter school in the inner-city urban area.
This is a new turn around school where teachers have to provide all the materials for their students. I want to supply materials for my students that will assist in enhancing their learning.
My Project
The use of an LCD projector in my ESL class will help increase student engagement and learning through visual process. It would make a huge impact on daily learning of the students in the classroom.
Currently I make copies of a practice book for each student for the lessons, and since copies are black and white, I feel as though they are boring and blunt. I want my students to enjoy learning. I want to enhance my students' learning by using visuals and making lessons lively.
With the help of an LCD projector, I can keep the students engaged in the lesson and grab their attention. For English language learners, the use of visuals is very important. Colorful and lively visuals projected are exactly what my students need to support their learning!
This project is crucial to the academic growth, student engagement, and success of English language learners in my classroom.
Students learn best through technology and visuals.
This LCD projector will not only be used by one clas,s but all my classes and future students. There is no way to express how important the use of technology will be in the classroom, particular for my ESL students.
