This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I enjoy seeing my students progress and learn new things every day. They are like little sponges, just eager to learn and grow. It inspires me everyday to be a part of their success. As an educator, I find that intervention is an integral part of meeting every student’s need. I use technology as a means to reach and engage them. My students are always eager and excited to use technology to enhance their learning.

My Project

I am a first grade teacher and I use the tablets in two ways. One, I use them for students who need extra support with lessons that are taught. The tablets allow them the opportunity, through apps, to review individual areas that they struggle with. Secondly, I use the tablets for enrichment. There are some students who quickly complete a given lesson. The six requested Fire tablets will allow me to challenge them through the use of apps. The apps will help to keep them engaged while building on the lessons just taught.

My students will greatly benefit from these additional classroom resources.
