Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 28 wonderful first graders that welcome me each day. I am truly blessed with an amazing group of children. I teach within a public city school district where students come from low economic homes and have very limited resources.
The class consists of Special, General, and English Language Learners.
We start the day with whole group instruction and transition into a variety of teacher prepared centers. This is a time where I instruct guided reading while the other students are completing individual tasks.
My Project
As a teacher, children need to learn to use their time wisely on computers. I currently have two desktop computers that at times crash and I am always fiddling with them. My main goal is for the students to engage in uninterrupted learning time.
The chromebooks will help tremendously during instructional time.
During my E.L.A. block, I will be able to implement vocabulary games and story writing. Extending a lesson with technology is so beneficial. The children will work in collaborative groups and chose an animal or person to research. These chromebooks will enrich our Science and Social Studies units of study as well. They will begin to explore and I will be able to guide them during instruction.
