As a teacher in a low income area, my students face many challenges throughout the school year, both at school and outside of school. I have students from all backgrounds and walks of life. They work side by side supporting each other all year long.
My students work hard to achieve the goals they set for themselves and for each other.
They are constantly striving to do better and to learn more. They are learning to step up and face their challenges no matter how difficult. I hope that they continue to learn that where they are from does not define them. They are able to chose who they become.
My Project
These materials will help to educate my students in the STEM areas. These items such as the Brainflakes and magnetic tiles will not only challenge students creativity but it will also peak their interest in areas they may not have previously considered. These are all things that students can use to see engineering in action, an area we do not often get to in class.
Items such as the Lego in Motion set will show them how science, technology, mathmatics and engineering all go hand in hand and how important they are to the world around us.
By using these STEM products the students will be challenged but also engages in their learning. They can use their imaginations and learn in a way that sets them up for success. These items will help open my students up to a new world of possibilities.
