Learning Through STEM Activities

My students need items such as LEGOS, KEVA BOT MAZE, and KIT MAKER LARGE to utilize while completing STEM activities which encourage science, technology, engineering, and math while collaborating in a team to solve various problems.

My Students

My students are 5th graders and there are between 20-25 students in each class. Over half of the students in my school are from low-income households. Several students in my classroom are English Language Learners and I have students on all academic levels. My students thrive when given hands-on experiences where they are able to make memories to aid in their learning. My students love to learn and always become so excited when there is a science investigation or STEM activity coming up!

My Project

This is my first year teaching STEM and these items will help me bring engaging activities for my students right from the beginning of the year!

These items will also go toward a Makerspace and our STEM Bins which promote engineering and creativity for students at all levels.

Students will use Legos for not only building tasks, but also to learn the basics of coding.

In addition to having the opportunity to use LEGOS and KIT MAKER LARGE in our STEM class, students will be able to create mazes and learn how to guide their KEVA robot through the maze.

I am very excited to be able to bring these activities into my classroom which will encourage teamwork, creativity, and engineering.
