Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative and inspiring young individuals who love learning. They are ambitious and self-motivating. My classroom is diverse and learns best through movement and hands-on learning. My students love to challenge themselves and question the world around them. I am blessed with students who enjoy coming to school each day ready to learn and put their best foot forward. When you enter my room you will always find them engaged in discussion. This allows them to learn from each other and make unique connections to the world around them.
My Project
Through meaningful play, my students are given the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the learning process throughout the day. Play supports children’s social emotional learning, helps develop communication skills, and allows them to practice math and literacy skills with their peers.
These materials will allow me to expand our class’ engaging centers and project-based learning curriculum.
For example, students will become engineers as they create and build at the Lego or magnet center. They will be able to create different tracks at the marble maze center, as well as see how things work in the gears center.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will give our class more opportunities to create meaningful play experiences, which will do so much more than just support their academic and social development. It will make their first grade year one they will never forget!
