I will be teaching enthusiastic kindergarten students. Some of my students come from low-income families and some speak two languages. They are eager to learn and are excited when they master skills. The students benefit from hands-on learning experiences. As a kindergarten teacher, I am working hard to encourage parent involvement within our school. We are trying to build a community where parents and teachers work together to benefit each and every child. My goal is to let kindergarten be the launching point for their academic careers.
My Project
Children need to play. Children often learn best through play. This food, dishes, pots, pans, and other accessories will give my students the chance to express their creativity while learning. Dramatic play involves acting out real-world situations and taking on the roles of different characters. These materials will give my students more options when planning their dramatic play.
Dramatic play enforces literacy and oral language in our kindergarten students.
Children are naturally drawn to dramatic play, but our dramatic play center needs some serious help! Through the funding of this project, it is my hope to expand our dramatic play center and provide my students with quality materials to use during play.
