My students are hard working,caring, individuals that make teaching my passion. They meet their challenges head on and put forth their best efforts. Cooperative play can be challenging in a world where so much emphasis is placed on technology. I am looking for board games, puzzles, crafts to use for social skills integration where we can use skills of compromise and cooperation . My students love challenges and love working in small groups. Learning to play cooperatively will enhance their learning environment.
My Project
These materials will be used during a structured play time . Activities are supervised and social skills lessons are taught through participating in activities that require compromise, taking turns,imagination, and creativity. It is through cooperative play students learn basic social skills that they can use throughout their lives. The various materials requested promote a playful
environment that encourages students to share, take turns, make compromises, and just have fun.
Through playing, students grow and develop both academically and socially. Students learn to work in a group setting and contribute to play in a meaningful way.Play is a necessary component to learning .
