This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students attend an inner-city public school where approximately 90% live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning.
All of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch and participate in the backpack program on the weekends.
This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way.
My Project
My kids love to play and I love when they learn while playing. These resources will help us do both! The Monkey Math Balance will allow students to explore numbers and addition and the Mini Motor set will let them practice adding while racing. The Zingo number will allow struggling students to explore one to one correspondence.
The self correcting word puzzles will help my new readers put together sounds to form words and the Zingo reading game will provide lots of opportunities for us to sound out words!
I love to watch my students learn and these items will make learning fun!
