Help me give my students a variety of materials for small group and open exploration. By using these engaging materials my students will be able to increase their language, cognitive, math, and social skills. Playing is learning!
Our Head Start classroom offers 20 children of low-income families who are three and four year olds, including those with special needs, experiences that maximize their total development. In our school family, we strive to create an environment where students feel safe to explore and learn.
Our students are not only creative, energetic and loving but genuinely excited for learning.
The students in my class learn best from hands-on and exciting experiences. Although it looks like we’re just playing, we are engaging in activities that teach us the specific skills we need to grow. Through play-based learning we are able to offer our children an opportunity to explore and engaged with their peers while developing their cognitive, language and social emotional skills. By engaging our kids through their interests we are fostering a love of learning as well as a strong foundation for school success.
The materials donated to our classroom will be welcomed into our manipulative and table toy center. Students will be able to use these materials during free choice to create and play. These materials will also be used during small group with a specific skill as the focus. From math, science, social studies to language and social skills, these toys will create great learning opportunities.
By donating to this project, you are creating a classroom that is full of engaging materials for students to explore, create and learn with.
Students will be able to create and build with the magnetic tiles, rainbow pebbles and magnetic mosaics. Our class will also be able to work on math skills like counting and patterning with the help from the new counters and Nuts about Patterns.
Making an environment that is engaging and fun to learn in is what we strive for.
