I teach an Intellectually Disabled class with 10 students at a Title l School. My students range in ages from 4-8 years old and are in TK-1st grade. The population of my special education classroom has disabilities ranging from Autism to Mental Retardation.
I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences despite the needs and age diversity in my classroom.
Many of my students have sensory needs that your donation will help provide.
Your donations will provide my students with Learning Essentials Trace and Learn Writing Activity Sets. These sets will be used to enhance fine motor skills by tracing the pictures and shapes that are provided.
I like to give my students active breaks through out the day.
The use of the Little Tikes Basketball Hoop will provide an active break as well as opportunity to work on their gross motor and motor planning skills.
Some of my students have sensory needs to help keep them motivated to learn. The use of the kinetic sand will give my students the sensory input needed.
