Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are extremely special. I teach an inclusive Pre-K class. It is amazing to see the growth and accomplishments of all my students each day, especially those that have special needs. The typical children in my class show so much gratitude and acceptance each day to their peers who are different. It truly makes my heart melt. They love to have fun and being silly while learning. They are a true example of how the world should be with everyone viewed as equal.
My Project
These materials will help my students learn from a hands-on approach. Many of the manipulative will be used to help build fine motor skills, math skills, literacy skills along with being creative . Some items, such as the Translucent Letters and Numbers, the Dinosaurs and Mouse Book Activity Kits, and the Squeeze, Scoop & Count Ice Cream Shop will all build a foundation for the skills that are needed to help young children grow. I am also requesting a Lakeshore Dough Assortment Set, Dot Art Painters, and Alphabet Picture Stencils.
Also, science and engineering will be skills my students will gain by using these items.
The Magna Tiles, Kinetic Sensory Sand, Sensory Dough, Scoop-A-Bug Sorting Kit, and Sensory Dough are all materials that will help build on math and science skills and learning in an Early Childhood classroom.
My students will have so much fun using the materials they will not even know they are learning. They will learn in the naturalistic way through play. Since my classroom is inclusive the objects will be used to help soothe those with sensory needs . Materials such as the play dough and kinetic sand will be an awesome addition to help with the children that do have sensory needs. They are going to have so much fun while learning .
