Learning Through Play Is the Right Way!

Help me give my students 2 sets of marble runs, magnetic builders, magnetic tiles and more to incorporate more fun learning opportunities for my students.

My Students

I'm the proud teacher to 16 amazing students who come from a diverse background of military and non-military families who truly want the best for their children.

I have an active, inquisitive and loving group of kindergartners.

My students enjoying dancing, singing, arts, crafts and learning! I'm excited to welcome my new group of kindergarten students to school. After a year of virtual and hybrid learning, I want to do everything I can to ensure my classroom is welcoming, exciting and meet the diverse needs of my little learners.

My Project

My students have had an amazing kindergarten school year! They have worked hard, made friends met an exceeded expectations that I have set for them. For the majority of the school year, I admit that I have been hyper-focused on closing the academic gaps that my students have had. Now that my students are on par and where they should be, I want to create more fun and engaging learning opportunities. One area that I want to focus on is my students learning how to play together, work through conflict and problem solve in small groups.

The best way to achieve this goal is to allow my kindergarteners to do what comes natural to them: PLAY!

I know my students will enjoy building and constructing various structures with the marble run. This will give them the opportunity to problem solve and work together to build different pathways for the marble to travel through. I am also requesting the magnetic builders to give my students and opportunity build various 3D and 2D structures. I am always looking for opportunities to build math into everyday activities. This will help my students make real life connections with 3D shapes.

Lastly, my students can continue their mathematical thinking by using magnetic number tiles to add, subtract and think about quantities. We know their is more than one way for kindergarteners to learn, but we know that learning through play is the right way! Thank you for supporting!
