Our school is a Title I school with a high poverty rate located in Central Florida. My students are naturally curious and ready to learn. For many of my students, this is their first time in a school setting. This is an exciting and new experience for them.
Our class serves students with a range of special needs, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and other specific learning disabilities.
I currently have nine students who are eager to learn and challenge their disabilities while preparing for kindergarten. My students are ready to learn, and they are naturally curious to explore the world around them while preparing for kindergarten.
My Project
My students could benefit from a variety of new toys that will help to spark their imagination. The doll house anf accessories will give them an opportunity to engage in imaginative play. The magnetic alphabet maze, prewriting magnetic board and alpha sketch center will allow them to work on their fine motor skills in a fun and engaging way.
These new toys will provide my students with an opportunity to work on their fine motor, sensory and imaginative skills while they are having fun playing.
The take turns skyway will encourage taking turns in a fun way. The little tikes safari and toddler vehicle will encourage pretend play. Finally, the people friends collage kit, farm animals collage boards and spiral art kit will allow them to use their imaginations as they create their own art projects.
