Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are hard-working individuals day in and day out, who strive to reach their potential grade level achievements. They've been through a lot recently as our community still recovers from the effects of Hurricane Harvey.
Many of our students have resource instruction time outside of their regular classroom setting.
This time provides opportunities for small group and one-on-one instruction. In our resource classrooms we expose our students to differential learning strategies to help them think independently and problem solve.
We use many visual aids, hands-on, peer coaching, and student lead activities to assess and help them try much as possible to reach their grade level educational goals.
My Project
Children continuously to learn through their senses of touching, tasting, seeing, smelling, and hearing. I want to continue giving my students many different learning experiences to gain knowledge. Math activities I have chosen are: Math Equivalency Puzzles, Giant Magnetic Graph Array Chart, Count to 120 Magnetic, Pattern Blocks Design, Teaching Place Value, and Hands-on Addition Regrouping. These items will help my students build their math comprehension working through calculations, visualizing concepts and problem solving. Literacy and Language activities I have chosen are: Blends and Digraphs, Building Fluency Card Bank, Learn the Alphabet Dough Mats, Float and Find Alphabet Bubbles, and Creating Sight Word Sentences. These activities chosen will help my students build their vocabulary, increase fluency reading rates, and help improve spelling and reading comprehension.
These activities I have chosen will help impact my students learning, engaging them to want to improve their learning capabilities close as possible to their grade level goals.
My students show a lot of involvement and interest when they can grasp learning through group games and hands-on activities. If I can expose my students in different ways of learning, I believe in helps them retain information being taught to them on a regular basis.
