Mr. Cain from Chicago IL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need lab supplies, like a hero's engine, a friction wheel drive, and a digital scale, to earnestly begin exploring what they can accomplish in the field of engineering.

Margaret Mead said, âÂÂNever doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.â My students strive to become the thoughtful citizens of their community who will bring about change through engineering.
Urban Prep Charter Academy for Young Men is the first charter school for young African-American boys in its area.
Many of the students come from impoverished and unloving households; however, they arrive to my class with faith, resilience, and relentless to not let their circumstance predict their future.
Many of my students have never used the tools that engineers use to change the world. My goal is to have them begin to identify problems within their neighborhood wherein they can utilize their knowledge, research skills, and problem-solving abilities to bring about a positive change. This will help them to recognize that they play an important role in society.
The innovative EPICS program, founded at Purdue University, has the capacity to fundamentally change how the world views engineering service-learning.
By providing opportunities to bring students together with local not-for-profit agencies, both groups benefit. Students gain real world educational and engineering-based experiences and agencies gain technology to improve the services they provide. Thank you for your support of high school engineering.
