My students need basketball set 4 ring, tunnel -sensational suds wash and balance beam on the move set. These materials are all beneficial equipment to improve my studentś gross motor, motor planning, balance and bilateral coordination.
¨Ready, set, go!¨ These are some of the words I would tell my students to encourage them to jumpstart, participate and engage during their physical therapy sessions.
My students have autism, down´s syndrome, and multiple disabilities with gross motor, balance and coordination delays that have an impact on their participation in various school activities.
They are 5 year old kindergarteners who are growing and learning in our brand new school in a low-income neighborhood in Queens, NY. They may present with difficulties and challenges to perform some of the tasks, but with your kind donation, their wings are set to soar this year!
My Project
Movement, and sensory play, in particular, serves as the foundations for learning.
With your generous donation, my students will have the opportunity for gross motor, balance, coordination and play involvement as well as engagement in a wide range of movements which would shape their readiness to learn and attend.
In addition, when the underlying sensory processing skills are efficient, a child’s behavior, attention, focus, and learning progresses well.
The motivating and therapeutic equipment being requested will keep the students engaged and will help them in progressing towards their goals.
It would be of utmost value for my young students who would greatly benefit from various movement in order to learn!
