it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! My resource classroom is specifically designed for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP) and special learning needs. My students are bright and inquisitive. Our room is designed to help these students with their unique learning styles and focuses on proactive learning solutions to help students achieve their highest potential.
Our primary subjects are math, reading, and writing.
Proficiency in these core subjects is vital to my students' success throughout their academic career. Unique to my classroom is the need for accommodations as outlined in my students' IEP's. I strive to provide my fantastic students with the supplies necessary to help them achieve optimal academic results while also meeting mandatory needs for additional supports including, but not limited to, flexible seating, specialized curriculum, fidget tools and more.
My students are enthusiastic to try new and innovative techniques and tools to help them to better focus in the classroom and achieve competency and even excellence. I am so proud of each of my hardworking and bright students and am so excited to, with generous help, provide them with tools for learning that excite and enable them to achieve beyond what they even believe possible!
My Project
A significant challenge to learning is lack of interest and engagement. Magazines used in a classroom provide a window for students to see the world around them. Educational magazines can introduce students to potential life long interests by using an appealing format and layout. The students I teach are typically at least one to two grade levels behind academically. It is critical to draw students in with tools that are engaging and promote interest. Through short articles that are targeted to initiate interest and provide a springboard for students to learn more without being overwhelming in content or word count, students can make great strides academically, by using this resource.
