Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are amazing, motivated children, who always come to school with a smile on their face! I am blessed to teach 21 amazing 2nd graders at a Title 1 Elementary School in Southeast Washington, DC. All of my students qualify for free lunch, and serval face many challenges outside the school building. The challenges they face daily, NEVER stop them from coming to school with a smile on their face ready to CONQUER the day and grow their brains.

My Project

These special literacy kits will help my students be successful in college and beyond! My students are wonderful second graders who truly LOVE learning. These kits will allow my students to have hands on learning experiences to continuously grow their brains.

It is imperative my second grade students fully understand story sequence, main idea, key details, character development, and the point of view of different individuals.

Understanding all the above will allow my students to be successful not only in the classroom but also in life. Literacy is the core to education and having these resources will help my students meet beyond the measurable goals.
