Learning Through Listening

Help me give my students Multicultural Read-Alongs, a Read-Along about Volcanoes, English Language Learner Games Library, and Reusable Write Wipe Pocket - Set of 30.

My Students

This year my students are amazing fifth graders who are learning in multiple ways. Most of them are coming and learning in person after almost 2 years of switching back and forth between digital and in person learning. This year we are living life just like we should! Our biggest goal is to make up the gaps the students have from the changes in learning they have endured.

My Project

These read-alouds will support my students in small groups so that they are able to reach the literacy level expected of them at the 5th grade level but also have the support of the story being read to them as they follow along. This allows them a gateway to make up for the academic learning that has been impacted by COVID-19. The books take the students into different cultures to help them recognize the positives in others. The Volcanoes read-aloud allows the students to explore one of our science standards while still supporting their reading. As half my class are Multi-Language Learners the ELL games library can support them in growing in their English Language development during small groups. The Write Wipe Pockets are there to support my students in their interactions in small groups and whole group instruction. Over all the goal of supporting the students at their current level after their learning experiences of the last few years with COVID-19 affecting thier learning will be assisted by these resources.
