My students are amazing individuals and a dynamic group. My students are third graders at a Title I public school in Michigan. They are a very diverse group of students that come from many different cultures, speak many languages, and have many different learning needs.

We refer to our classroom as our school family because we all work together to support one another, help one another through struggles, and we may not always like each other like best friends, but we can respect one another and love them like family.
I am proud to say my students know they matter, not just to me, but to each other. They take their jobs at school seriously and they work hard. We hold one another accountable and set the bar high. We are constantly growing and learning from challenges.
My Project
My students are in need of their own headphones to support their usage of educational technology. In a generation where students are motivated by technology, they want to become YouTubers, professional game designers, and other technology-related jobs we cannot allow our only response tools to be paper and pencil. Especially when the new jobs we haven't even dreamt about yet are those our students will be seeking and likely will involve technology.

With your generous donations, we can give all students the opportunity to utilize visual learning environments. My students love to use educational blog websites to share their learning with their peers and families at home. It is a powerfully motivating way for them to express their learning through the use of video and audio recording. Their videos are shared with their classmates and parents and they are able to receive feedback, comments, and likes. These headphones also allow students to access text at their individual reading level to be read aloud to them, or individualized lessons through our online learning programs. These headphones are so crucial in allowing my class to have resources for differentiated learning. These headphones will be utilized across many content areas at various times throughout the day. I am excited that students for years to come will be able to utilize these!
