My Students

In the eyes of a first grader, there is a twinkling, a sparkle, an excitement for learning! I teach 25 curious six and seven year-olds. They love to try new things and are especially thrilled when we use technology in the classroom.

These first graders amaze me everyday with their willingness to learn!

Whenever I read a book, all eyes are on me, just soaking in the story. My students have developed a love of reading. We use certain apps to help us become more fluent. When a student feels ready, they jump at the chance to show off their skills by reading aloud to the class!

My Project

My students love to read books and listen to books being read on our tablets. The problem is with their headphones. Some students have brought earbuds to school, which broke the first week of class. Some students struggle with cords or broken pieces of the headphones.

My students need reliable, good quality headphones so they can focus on listening to fluent stories being read.

Each student can only have a certain amount of time on our tablets, so getting them up and running eats up their learning time. If students do not have headphones, they have to turn the volume down, sometimes missing out on hearing key parts of the story. These headphones will last many years because of the wonderful quality. I am asking for 30 sets. Accidents do happen and I want to be able to replace one right away if I need to!
