Developmental kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.
In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
I teach 19 amazing kindergartners. As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways.
My Project
Mornings can be tough, but having these hands-on activities will wake up the students and their minds! All of these activities will help the students learn their letters and numbers, and also grow their imagination.
Hands-on activities are super important in the classroom, especially in a Kindergarten room!
My students love being hands-on and I am hoping I can get more activities into the room for my students to learn and enjoy.
Many of my students don't realize they are learning when we are "playing" in the room. I am hoping that now I will be incorporating "morning tubs" in the morning I will have more items to rotate throughout the week.
