Learning Through Exploration

Help me give my students the opportunity to explore with hands-on materials! This includes lighting, printer ink, and other items.

My Students

I have a class of first graders, ages five to seven. We love to smile, with gaping grins where baby teeth once were and where new teeth haven't quite come in. We are diverse ethnically, from every corner of the globe and we love to laugh in many languages. We are diverse academically, from both ends of the spectrum and we are excited to learn in real-world ways, using our hands and fingers and our five senses. Many of my students are refugees from around the globe. An increasing number are from the local homeless shelters and have just moved into their first private apartment!

We are eager and excited to learn, especially if we can feel and experience learning and science with our own hands!

My Project

With so much of our lives being virtual currently, I am excited to provide as much hands-on learning for my students as possible! Someday this pandemic will end and we will return to traditional learning methods. Why not make those traditional methods and the new methods being used today come together in the classroom?!

With your help, we will be able to explore the world around us, compare our findings with existing books, and present our findings in colorful printed presentations.

A lifetime of learning is our goal and with the help of these materials we will learn how to explore and gain knowledge in dynamic ways!
