Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher, I want to provide my students with the best education possible, so that they can be college and career ready. We are an IB school! What does this mean? The IB program encourages students to think broadly, beyond the boundaries of their communities, and to see themselves as members of a global society. These students are sure to be intelligent contributors to society as they travel through life.
Our low-income students deserve equal opportunities and the best education possible!
I love each and every one of my students, this is why I want to give them the absolute best first year of school (kindergarten). Everyday these kindergartners are putting their best foot forward while emerging themselves in their education. They are wiggly 5-6 year olds filled with excitement for learning. Our Kindergarten classroom is a welcoming place where you will see young students taking action and responsibility for their own learning experience.
My Project
Thanks to DonorsChoose.org we have recently acquired a new water table in our classroom. The water table allows young kindergarten students to engage in sensory play and learning throughout their very academic and busy day. Our water table needs some accessories such as learning games, puzzles, and waterproof building blocks that float! Children learn best when they’re able to decompress, process and apply what they have been learning through exploration and independent learning activities. My students are eager to learn in nontraditional ways. Students will be able to learn a variety of social and academic skills through exploration at our new water table .
