Help me give my students opportunities to learn through dramatic play! My students often lack exposure to inviting, creativity inspiring, language producing, play materials.
My preschoolers range from ages 3-6. My students have identified educational disabilities and the majority come from low-income households. My students' needs vary greatly from delays in speech and/or academics to students with multiple physical impairments and more global delays.
In addition to educational disabilities, the majority of my students have a lack of exposure to typically common, childhood toys and experiences.
My students need materials that will inspire them to be creative and expand and enrich their language experiences!
My Project
Many of my students lack exposure to play items that stimulate them to explore, learn, and talk! The people I have chosen for the block area and for the dollhouse will get them talking through the pretend people. This helps them to speak and practice talking in a fun way! They will also learn about different jobs and roles in the community.
The items I have chosen for dramatic play will teach my students everything from sorting and organization to healthy foods and learning new vocabulary!
These materials will also help our students practice speaking for a variety of purposes. For example, making a request, asking for help, and inviting friends to play!
