Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title Ischool in Las Vegas. My students and their families come from a variety of situations and backgrounds. Despite many of my students' families greatest efforts, they struggle daily for some of the most basic needs. Their resiliency and grit impress me every day.
Despite the greatest of challenges put upon my students and their families, they arrive at school ready and excited to learn every day.
They love learning and are so inquisitive in everything they do. They work towards success, challenge themselves, and set goals for themselves on a regular basis. They are the people that will strive to change this world for the better.
My Project
Flocabulary and BrainPop Jr. are programs that help engage students in the classroom with whatever they may be learning. These programs are used to introduce, review, and refresh students' learning through creative songs and interesting characters who explore the topics being taught in fun storylines. Students will be able to engage with these programs on a daily basis in all content areas.
With these programs, my students will be able to engage in a variety of songs, dances, and educational storylines that will help them to better understand difficult topics.
They will be able to engage in these programs as a whole class and independently to continue their learning. My students have already shown significant interest in and growth from these programs. This project will help encourage my students love for creativity and learning.
