It is said that attitude determines direction and at our school, we start learning that in kindergarten! In our class we are determined to grow and learn every day, exceeding the goals set for us and by us! We are learning at an early age that it is our choice how far we go and how to become responsible members of the classroom, school, and community.
We are an active group of learners, we learn all day while moving, singing and dancing.
Everyday we strive to do our very best in reading, writing, math and science!
My Project
My students are five and six years old and most of our learning comes from hands on projects and activities. We are constantly creating in the classroom while learning. We use construction paper for creating settings from stories we have read or representing a number, math problem or graph we are learning about. In science we use paints and construction paper to create habitats for Missouri animals, pictures of the night sky and day sky. We use play dough to build shade structures for science, represent numbers in math and spell words in reading. In addition to learning our academics we are also working on our fine motor skills in the classroom. We use beads and pipe cleaners to represent numbers, while we are working on the those fine motor skills. One of my jobs as a teacher is to find ways to make learning engaging for all of my students. The activities above are such a few ways the materials I am requesting will help engage my students through out the school year!
