Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students range from Kg - 2nd grade and are eager to learn. Unfortunately, they are lacking the foundational skills needed to be successful in their current grade. This is no fault of theirs, the pandemic hit and schools were closed and remote learning was the new way of learning. I embrace their desires to want to learn and want to continue to work with them to help close those academic gaps.

Creating an after school space for students to learn while engaging in fun activities provides opportunity for growth.

My Project

I want to provide space for students to learn and engage in fun activities. The after school program will focus on students academic needs and providing resources to help the students. Providing learning centers will allow students to engage while learning and allow me to work with students in each center. Engaging in fun reading and math activities challenge the students minds while engaging in learning.

Ensuring student engagement while learning through fun activities will close students learning deficits.

Creating a space that allow students to be comfortable is important to their academic success.
