I teach first grade at a Title 1 school in an active military community. Many of our students come from a low income and single parent household.
We have a busy classroom of learners where students rotate through centers in math, reading, writing, science.
They are curious, active, eager learners that love working in small groups or with a partner. They love using their imagination and learning through exploration. They come into the classroom each day alert, full of energy and ready to learn.
My Project
My students rotate through a variety of learning centers each day. They work independently and with partners to explore reading, writing, math, science, and STEM in a fun and hands-on way. Each center takes a LOT of time to prepare. They require printing, laminating, and cutting of many pieces and parts. In the primary world of centers, preparation takes hours and hours.
A Brother Scan and Cut 2 will take materials for classroom centers and virtually eliminate the hours of teacher preparation time.
It gives the user the option to scan items or use ones from a PC and then cuts each and every little piece out for the user.
With the aid of a Scan and Cut 2 machine, I can effectively create and rotate centers more frequently throughout the year. I love seeing the excitement on the faces of each student when they are presented with a new and exciting center to explore!
