My students need a new rug where we can read and learn together.
This project expired on December 12, 2010.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you remember when your teacher would call you to the carpet to hear stories? My students do not have a carpet to enjoy these stories on.
I teach a 2nd grade inclusion classroom in a very high need, high risk area.
Many of my students have special needs and attending class for the entire day can be very difficult. My students come from a variety of backgrounds in a very tough community. Our school provides a safe place for our students to grow and learn.
Getting my students engaged in learning can be difficult, but when I can offer them a variety of areas to learn in, I can keep their attention! A carpet area would provide students a much needed break from their desks, as well as a comfortable area to read and listen to stories. This aquarium carpet ties into my classroom theme and provides the students with alphabet reminders in a fun and exciting way. The students get very excited when we move to the carpet for story time, calendar time, or time to relax.
A classroom carpet offers students a place to go away from their desks and the cold tile floor. A carpet area can be a calm place for students to learn and share together.
Teaching can be a very difficult task, but with your kindness I can rest assured that my students will have a comfortable place to come together and learn.
You would provide them with a space where they can relax and enjoy learning in a different way!
