My students need assistance with phonics, literature, and sight words. Exposing them to various material will allow them to close the gaps the currently have.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is full of bubbly personalities and eager minds. They come in with bright and happy faces ready to accomplish each task in front of them. With these bubbly faces you it would be hard to see the difficulties that they have. A review of the school would let you know that 63% of the school is composed of Hispanic students and that 92% is on free and reduced lunch. At home students can struggle receiving help due to the language barrier and long working hours from parents. My goal is to give them powerful experiences and expose them to different materials that the otherwise would never get. With all the challenges they face in the world they continue to work hard and achieve their goals.
My Project
My project is created to help my students learn through hands on and audio listening. Students will have the ability to listen to some of their favorite stories. During this time they will be learning pitch, tone and vocabulary. They will gain valuable information by building sentences using sight words. Moving sight words around while creating sentences makes way for kintic learning. This will get them more familiar with these words while also seeing them used in everyday life. My students will enjoy books that contain sight words and that they are able to read on their own. This will create an excitement towards reading which will carry on with them for years to come !
