My Students

I teach 1st grade at a rural school located in North Dakota. Most students know everyone within the school and share a lot of the same interests. We connect the majority of our lessons to the shared experiences the students have.

My students are creative, full of questions, and very energetic.

They love hands-on projects and find ways to take things to the next level. Many of my students do not have the support or resources at home to continue their learning. I want to be able to supply the right tools in my classroom so that each student is able to apply their creative thinking to overcome different challenges.

My Project

I always loved art and love the way it allows me to express myself. I want to share that with my students and give everyone the opportunities to grow and succeed through different kinds of art and crafts. Most of my students come from low income families and do not have art materials at home. I want to expose them to as many different types of art possible. Art helps decrease negative emotions and allows students to use that energy in a positive way.

As Romero Britto states, “Art is too important not to share.” By helping with this project you will allow me to share art with all of my students.
