Nearly all of the students in my classroom are from low-income households and thus face many challenges. I currently teach a diverse group of individuals with so much potential. Most of my students have learning challenges due to the fact that they are English language learners and have learning difficulties such as dyslexia, LD, ADHD, ADD, ED, Austism, Deaf, or Speech impediments.
Although my students face many challenges they are creative, thoughtful, full of questions, and most importantly eager to learn.
They are also loving, caring, and best of all respectful. My students love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box. Each day I am welcomed with bright smiles, and happy attitudes. They come prepared to learn new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are without a doubt my inspiration. They have made me want to become a better teacher.
Art is an excellent way to help students bring out their creativeness. It helps with their tactile learning. I chose to ask for art supplies such as paint, paint brushed, card stock paper, googly eyes, and more to help achieve my students creative side. My students enjoy expressing themselves by drawing, coloring, sculpting, and painting. It is with these supplies that their projects will come to life. I hope to inspire my students to observe closely, and think critically through art. I believe ART helps children learn how to observe and translate their thoughts. Please help me achieve this goal.
Their creativity will be show cased not only in the classroom but around the school where other students and parents can enjoy them.
