My science classroom is my second home. I take every step to make sure students have everything they need and feel comfortable while they work. My goal is to provide the optimal learning environment for my students. I teach 7th and 8th-graders, at a high poverty school, which can sometimes be a little taxing, but in the end, it is all worth it. I teach about 80 7th grade science students
The greatest part about middle school is that the students are trying to find where they fit in the world, and it is always rewarding to help them get to where they need to be.
The most basic way that I can help the students, is to help provide them with all that they need to be successful. Learning can't take place if the student is too worried about being able to afford basic supplies, or if they are too afraid to ask their teacher for help. With the proper supplies, I can, at the very minimum, help the students meet their basic needs.
My Project
This project will go directly to my students human body unit. The students are responsible for learning nine different body systems and I have found that the best way to organize the mass amount of information is to color code each system with a set of flashcards.
We will be creating flashcards for each system with a specified color.
These flashcards will help my students stay organized and build more study habits for test-taking.
I have selected a variety of bright colored paper to help the students to stay organized and tell the difference between each system. We will be putting a variety of vocabulary terms on the cards such as the functions of each system and the major organs. These cards will be a great study tool for the students.
