Hello! My classroom will consist of 24 smiling and eager to learn Kindergartners! As a teacher in a low income/high poverty school district, my students face many challenges outside of the classroom. I want my classroom to be a place where my students can come and feel at home. I believe that a student will learn their best when they most importantly feel loved but also when they have the proper materials to enhance their learning.
My students are creative, silly, clever and eager to learn!
We are a Title I school with seventy-five percent of the students receiving free or reduced price lunch and eleven percent receiving services as English Language Learners. My students come to class with different learning and emotional needs, as well as different language and nationalities.
My Project
I chose a few comfy seating options for my students! Kindergarten is a time when students are adjusting emotionally and physically! We are moving in a new direction in education and taking away those hard chairs and replacing them with comfortable options for my students to learn and grow! The CanDo donut balls that I have chosen will allow my students to grab and go when they are doing their work. They also allow my students to move around while they are doing their work! The little couch I have chosen will make for a wonderful and cozy reading spot!
Kindergarten kiddos love to move while they learn!
I am hoping that this project will allow my students to make their own choices and feel in charge of their learning. Little do they know, any option they choose will be comfortable for them!
