Learning the Art of the Masters

My students need paint markers, modeling tools, clay, and 30 artist trays.

Hooray! This project is fully funded

Art is such a neglected subject in schools today that I spend two weeks teaching my students about famous artists and providing opportunities for them to create their own artwork. I teach kindergarteners who love to create. Quality art experiences help all of my students and especially give my students who are learning English as a Second Language a chance to express themselves without words.

I teach about famous artists, and provide opportunities for my students to create art of their own using some of these same styles.

If I had clay, modeling tools, and some new paint supplies I could enhance this unit with sculptures that would be long lasting, and dot paint to experiment with pointillism. I have attempted other materials in the past but it was what I had at my disposal and the quality was such that the experience was subpar; playdoh and cotton swabs just didn't cut it.

Your help with this project will help my students know and appreciate art for all its glory. They will have a complete experience with many different types of art both in the viewing of it and the creation of it. I hope you are able to contribute to this project to help my students gain appreciation for the work of great artists from past and present.
