My Students
My students walk into my classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. Their favorite question is, "What are we going to do today, Mrs. Smith?" I always reply, "Something Fun!"
My students are children with special needs. They long to "FIT IN" with their peers. Seeing as they have to be pulled out of the General Education Classroom for additional help in Reading and Math, I try to make it feel like they are not missing anything from the class they are pulled out of and I try to make my class fun and interesting for them as well.
Students with special needs require lessons to be taught in many different ways (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and my students deserve only the BEST to help them learn.
Most of my students will never visit any other state outside the state they live in. Most of my students are in the lower socio-economic class. That's why I chose Donors Choose to help fund my project.
My Project
Special Needs students often face the handicap of not being able to travel the world either due to physical handicaps or lack of finances. State Alphabet Books not only help them learn their alphabet, but it will also give them the opportunity to see sights of the USA through books that they may never be able to see.
Through State Alphabet Books, my special needs students will be able to see the sights of the USA without leaving the comfort of their classroom.
There's nothing better than opening a book and exploring the good ol' USA!!! Sounds Like a Fun Adventure!!!
