My Students

Meet my class! Twenty-five-second graders who love to learn, love to read, and love to explore! They come from diverse backgrounds. Our school has a student population that includes 67% of students who receive free/reduced-price lunch and 17% of students who are English Language Learners. Our class has three different home languages represented, English Language Learners, and students with exceptional educational needs.

My students are part of an inquiring and inclusive classroom community that welcomes all learners, and works as a family to help everyone achieve success!

We are inquirers and explorers. We are kind and respectful. We work together to grow as members of the global community. My students are constantly looking to learn new things and crave opportunities for hands-on, minds-on learning.

My Project

Play is the cornerstone of any elementary classroom.

Through the use of STEM bins, my students get the chance to create, build, and explore.

We are looking to add more wooden rock blocks and Magnatiles to our STEM materials and help organize our materials with the plastic bins. My students use the STEM materials as part of our soft start mornings where they can choose an activity to start their day. We also use our STEM bins at recess and incorporate them into other subject areas when we can. Providing my students with hands-on learning activities has always been important, but it is even more critical as we come back to in-person learning after a year of learning virtually.
