My Students

My students live in a rural area. More than one-third of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students have had to deal with trauma in their lives. Although they have had to endure hardships, they absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

Having materials and resources available to help my students learn would have a huge impact on their lives.

Our school district would love to provide these materials; unfortunately funding is not available.

My Project

I will be adding a Stop Motion unit to our STEM education. This will be done in my computer science class. Having the iPad will allow me to create a station where students will create a Stop Motion project.

Students will also use the iPad to brainstorm possible STEM stop motion projects and create an outline that includes STEM terminology.

They will write simple script and draw each scene in storyboard format.

They will use the iPad and take photographs of each storyboard panel, record their voice over, and upload the project to be made into a video. Their projects will then be shared with the class.
