My Students

The students at my school are intelligent, creative, determined, and caring individuals. They love engaging assignments and notice when teachers go out of their way to give them the education they deserve.

This is my fourth year at this school, and I am continuously amazed at what my students are able to accomplish not only in my classroom, but on our campus as well.

My students motivate me and inspire me to keep creating and using engaging lessons and projects.

My Project

The students at Ladera Ranch Middle School work hard to succeed in class and on the Standards Based Assessment. Unfortunately, some of our instructional materials and books are dated and do not correlate with the Common Core State Standards.

The Flocabulary learning program is engaging and directly correlates with the Common Core State Standards.

While the students score very well on the Standards Based Assessment year after year, one reoccurring deficit is in the listening component of the test. In 2016, only 30% of the students scored above standard in listening.

Flocabulary uses videos to teach standards based content and is proven to increase standardized test scores.
