My Students

I have the privilege of working with an amazing group of individuals who are unique thinkers. My students come from a high poverty area. They are diverse in how they learn, the languages they speak, and the opportunities that are available to them outside of school.

My students are always willing to learn and put their best foot forward each and every day.

These children are fascinated with discovering new things. They are encouraged to try and to learn from mistakes and to redo or prove their own work. If they are given the right learning environment, these students can achieve greatness.

My Project

Science is such a wonderful subject in school. I have learned to get students in engaged in science by creating hands-on activities that help them to start asking questions. I am looking for tuning forks, balloons, binder clips, scotch tape, and clothesline to create three different discovery science projects on sound waves. This is a new part of fourth grade science and I am excited to begin teaching it.

When a student begins to question the world around them and the things they see happening then they begin to take interest.

When they take interest then they begin to learn.
