These kids are phenomenal. Many of these students are on their way to general education classrooms from a special education classroom. We meet the in-between area and are something of a grey area. We are excited to learn and grow this year and need some help to do it. All of these amazing kids need some individual help to meet their goals and that means individual programs. Their amazing personalities are sometimes hidden by their challenges but with your help, we are more than ready to push through the hard times to be successful.
My Project
Working with students who have special needs requires a lot of unique things. Books that address specific skills help students learn and understand concepts through characters that are fun and engaging. My students love bright colors and love being able to have different examples of skills that they are learning such as dealing with big feelings. Adding books to our library with these specific focuses will help them better develop these skills.
Having bookshelves in the classroom that highlight the book content helps my students that struggle with literacy find the books that they are looking for.
This helps them to utilize the information within the books without searching the spine for a book that they do not recognize.
