Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 7th grade students at a campus located in a small town where most are considered economically disadvantaged. About 90% of the student body is made up of English language learners, for which special accommodations must be made in order to ensure learning. The district does try its best to stay up to date on the needs of our student population but being that we are a large district, it becomes difficult to provide for all.
I feel that having the proper tools in my classroom, will increase the opportunity for my students to become life long learners.
Especially in this day and age where technology is a must, even in a science classroom. Please help my students reach their full potential.
My Project
Technology has become a part of our daily life science lessons, wether it be to write notes, do research, or use other online resources. Our district is encouraging the creation of blended classrooms and has provided 1:1 computers, but it is difficult to create a blended classroom when students cannot individualize their learning due to noise in the environment.
These headphones will provide the opportunity for students to better understand and grasp concepts.
It will facilitate their chances of success by providing self paced learning as well as individualized learning. Through these headphones students will be able to access online podcasts and videos that enhance their learning.
