Help me give my students hands on experiments so the scientific process can be explored in action! These tubs will allow my students to explore concepts in depth- from microscopes, pulleys and 3-D models to fun flip books.
I'm teaching fourth grade for the first time this year. My school is very small and is located in a rural town in Pennsylvania. We don't have a lot of resources available to ensure students are excited to learn in their classroom.
I have a great group of 18 students who are fun and energetic from the moment they walk into the classroom.
My students have a great attitude towards learning as they always try and work towards specific goals. I want to provide them an environment that encourages growth. New classroom materials can create a space that encourages high level thinking and exploration.
My Project
Currently my students read a 15 year old textbook in science class. After reading each section in the book, students review the content by completing an outline page. We go over the answers and then move onto the next lesson.
Although the textbook contains a lot of information, it does not get students excited about learning different science topics.
By purchasing these 8 learning tubs, I know my students would be thrilled to complete hands on experiments to learn different topics. The kit will help make key (difficult) concepts easy to grasp! Each tub includes a guide with reproducibles, extension ideas and more so I will be able to implement several lessons around each tub.
The tubs will help my students master all national science standards as electricity, motion, matter, cells, the human body, earth, and the solar system will be examined in great detail. This purchase will be a game changer as my science instruction will transfer from boring and out-dated to hands on and relevant. Students will beg for more science instruction as I know they will love exploring all of the manipulatives provided in the tubs.
