My students need a variety of timers in order to make center time more manageable. It will help them to stay on track during math and reading activities. It will also help them build stamina.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a group of 28 energetic and happy students that are ready for Kindergarten every day! They cannot wait to listen to our favorite stories, learn new songs and make new friends. My students are all 5 years old when they start school and for many of them, this is their first educational experience. I want it to be Epic!
Our school is set in a beautiful Mexican neighborhood in a large city in Illinois with lots of culture.
It is also a high poverty neighborhood with many parents that spend most of their time working to make ends meet. Kids are excited to come to our school because we provide the structure as well as the experiences that they need to make learning meaningful to them.
My Project
The student timers will help my students build independence while they work in their learning centers. Students in Kindergarten have a hard time understanding how much time they have to stay focused . If we have the self timers, they can monitor their time in an easy and fun way. When class time is managed well more learning can take place.
We need a variety of timers to give time management some novelty.
I chose some self timers for reading and writing time. I also chose some whole class timers that buzz. We need and assortment of timers to make our learning environment fun.
