Learning responsibility with a strong work ethic at GL Academy! Our school is located on the Southeast side of Chicago and is a Title I school. We have a projected enrollment of around 700 students in PreK-8th grades. 95% of our students are Hispanic and come from low income households.
Teaching responsibility with technology in the school store will foster a positive learning environment and instill a strong work ethic.
These qualities ensure our students have success academically and socially and learn to work collaboratively with all individuals.
My Project
When students are Respectful, Responsible, and Safe, they are rewarded swipes/points that can be redeemed at the Purple Pride school store. We want to encourage students to have pride in what they do creating a lifelong work ethic.
Students will be able to use the Galaxy Tablets as they volunteer in the school store helping other students shop for the items they want to purchase.
The tablets will be used by student volunteers as they check out the student shoppers. The student volunteers will build their confidence and work ethic as they learn to work with others while properly using technology.
