Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with hard working students each day. Students are expected to perform to their best ability. Expectations of my students are high, regardless of their disability. Each student can try his and her best.
My students work their finest every day.
With disabilities ranging from autism to intellectual disability, students need age appropriate choices that they find engaging.
My students have varying skill abilities but are all motivated to try their hardest through fun and educational activities. I expect growth and learning from every student I teach. These students work diligently in areas that have shown to be difficult for them. They are rock stars!
My Project
Students need to see how to apply math to practical uses. These books will provide them with resources to practice such skills. They also will give the students practice with critical thinking skills. This is an area that can be overlooked in the school day. Math Bafflers, Book 2: Logic Puzzles That Use Real-World Math will help my students think critically about what happens in everyday life. Sir Cumference Classroom Activities will enhance already engaging math stories to aid in retention of subject matter.
The students will be able to graph lines, points, and shapes with their whiteboards.
This gives them practice in a format that can be easily changed. Colorful dry erase markers will provide an array of possible graphing options.
Both special and general education students will benefit from these resources. Each resource has been selected to enhance the learning of the students I will work with in the next school year.
