This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach the 3-year old program in a Title I school. I have two groups, a morning class with 12 students and an afternoon class with 16 students. Our wonderful teacher assistant and I love working with the youngest students in our school.

Our students are playful, curious, and love coming to school.

My students thrive in our program which provides them with rich meaningful academic and social experiences, that enhance their quality of life. The students in my class have the opportunity to learn about how the world around them works through play on a daily basis.

I have the best job! I get to form meaningful relationships with wonderful kids and I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on these young minds.

My Project

These pre-writing materials I have chosen for my class will be perfect for exploring the motions of writing, letter skills…and strengthen the fine motor skills they need to write.

The key to learning at any age is to do it while having fun!

These manipulatives will provide a fun way to build important fine motor skills and pre-writing skills that are fundamental to develop before they are able to write. I know that my students will have fun while using the Pre-Writing Magnetic Board as they guide balls through a variety of pattern tracks using the magnetic wand, mastering key letter-formation strokes, and building fine muscle control.

Pre-writing skills are essential for a child to be able to develop the ability to hold and move a pencil fluently and effectively and therefore produce legible writing. I am confident that my students will be engaged when using these materials while acquiring important skills that will set a good foundation for writing.
